How It Works
Most people can safely whiten their teeth with our in-chair and take-home processes. Dr Ash (Dentist) will do an examination to screen for gum disease first, and complete any other necessary treatments before doing the whitening.
We use the Pola whitening system, which consists of a whitening gel and a special LED light that accelerates whitening. The treatment takes about 30-45 minutes. We apply the gel to your teeth, and then expose them to the special light for a few minutes. Then the gel is rinsed off, and the process is repeated 2-3 more times during the session, depending on how your teeth respond.
We’ll also provide you with a custom whitening tray, so you can apply the gel once a day for 10-20 days to achieve your desired results.
How Long Does It Last?
Teeth whitening does not offer permanent results, but you can extend the time between treatments by rinsing with water after eating or drinking things like red wine, coffee, tea and blueberries (or by foregoing those things entirely). Usually whitening needs to be repeated every 6-12 months to maintain the whiteness you desire.
Tooth Sensitivity
Whitening products may cause temporary tooth sensitivity. We will send you home with some special sensitivity toothpaste to help with this issue.
Safe for Dental Enamel
Over-the-counter products may contain higher concentrations of whitening agent, which, if not used according to the directions, may damage tooth enamel. Our products offer a controlled dose of whitening agent, which is safe and doesn’t damage dental enamel.
